Day Cabs in Development
Prairie Technology is the undisputed leader in research and development of new products for the vocational and day cab conversion market. Utilizing decades of experience with our design engineers, we have already developed state of the art conversion kits for most truck models. Our ability to learn and gain knowledge from our own in house conversion facility in Sioux Falls, SD, the experience of our customers, and dozens of certified dealerships and body shops is priceless.
As the truck manufacturers introduce new models embodying the latest technology and aerodynamic designs, our design staff begins working on new projects to allow for reconfiguration of those sleeper trucks as they “mature” or are involved in wrecks that impair their continued utilization as sleeper trucks. We have just completed an exciting new project for a Freightliner and in the earlier stages of an International conversion.
The Cascadia is Freightliner’s new platform and has quickly gained acclaim as an industry leader for both aerodynamics and on board technology. Prairie Tech has completed the 6 inch stretch and has just finished a 24 inch legal berth sleeper kit. Both feature a dramatically reinforced back panel designed to better withstand a rear or side impact. An aerodynamic roof cap also incorporates a sleek new look which compliments the lines of the Cascadia. The introduction of this new product line in the third quarter set a new standard in kit design and sleeper reconfiguration.
The ProStar is International’s newest model which has been enthusiastically received by fleets and owner operators alike. The R&D process is well underway on this model and should be ready for production at the beginning of the second quarter of 2013. The design team envisions a day cab consistent with ProStar’s exquisite styling while maintaining the aerodynamic characteristics of the sleeper model. Stay tuned for more information as the process unfolds.
